Sticky toes occur when the middle or corner of the toenail grows into a nearby skin piercing. Although not a serious condition, the toes of the big toe must be treated immediately, so as not to cause infection.
Cantengan big toe will make the big toe hurt, swollen, and red. To overcome this, you can do simple maintenance yourself at home. However, it should be noted, this treatment is recommended for cases with a big toe that has not developed into an infection.
Various Causes of Cananging Big Toe

2. Soaking feet in apple vinegar water
You can use apple cider vinegar to deal with the big toe. It's easy, just mix ¼ cup (about 60 ml) of apple cider vinegar into a basin of warm water. Soak feet for 20 minutes, then dry. Although not much research, apple vinegar is considered able to overcome the big toe because it has antiseptic, anti-pain, and anti-inflammatory properties.
3. Pads nails with cotton
The next way that can be done is to give a wedge of cotton between the skin and nails with a thumb. It's easy, take a small piece of cotton that has been soaked in alcohol, then put the cotton underneath the toenails. This method can shift the nail to grow in the right direction.
4. Applying antibiotic cream or ointment
You can also apply an antibiotic cream or ointment to the big toe that is sticky to help cure it and prevent infection. Apply an antibiotic cream or ointment 3 times a day, and be sure to always wrap the big toe with a gauze bandage.
During cantengan, use shoes and socks that are the right size, so that the big toe is not depressed. If necessary, wear sandals for a while, until the toe is completely healed. To reduce pain due to cantengan, you can take pain relievers, such as paracetamol.
